Tell us something.: I play high and low whistle with Traditional Irish Music being my focus of interest. I love Irish music and consider it as a direct connection to my Irish heritage. I enjoy participation in whistle tours, chatting with other players, and learning much from the many talented folks that frequent C & F.

Feadoggie and Steve Bliven,

I an sure Ytliek has me beat hands down. He was thinking about heading off to Irish Arts Camp in The Catskills and was going to take his "favorite whistles" with him. Next thing I knew, he mentioned something about having to use a moving van! :boggle:

I'll admit I am seriously afflicted, Ytliek exists in a completely different dimesion of UBER-WOAD.

Tax return is coming here momentarily. I believe in supporting the economy and think I've done my part so far. Keep in mind I'm still a newbie, look over to your left... that's me... penurious, tone deaf, whistlehoarding wannabee whistler. Yup! When I get a few more tunes & whistles tucked into my belt that'll be... Hup!

But for now... them whistles sure are pretty! I should've sold the house and started with that Engraved Copeland High D Whistle with the wooden box a year ago. Remember that one? The pic is gone now... but that image is engraved here. Pavlov would be proud. I'm drooling all over my new NWA T-shirt just thinking about it.

Ah, finally I get it.

One whistle per tune. That's the reasoning.

Sure I remember it. It will come up for sale again. I've seen it offered for sale twice - at least. There is also a Generation or two out there somewhere that have a similar treatment. Are you game for one of those? You know I can put you in touch with an engraver that could knock one of those out for you no prob'. Maybe I should just get one of my Copelands engraved and see where it leads things.

But really, an Ellis whistle would be more unique. Each timber is different. And think of how many timber varieties there are.

Lets not get carried away, as my tax return isn't that big because I have the proper money withheld for myself. But its enough to satisfy the Whoad fer a day or so. I'll keep it in mind though... engraved Generation... then again, engraved Copeland. Burning the candle from both ends seems appealing. :)

[Thread revival. - Mod]

Hi Guys,
I just purchased the pre-loved Geoffrey Ellis F that 'tomcat' offered up, and had a chance to tootle on it a bit -
and Wow - Nice.
I read and followed this thread when it was first posted some years ago - and re-read it recently now - and am thrilled to be able to finally have the chance to purchase one.
Thanks Again - 'tomcat' - plays great & I love it !
