CP: 30 One-Hour Tin Whistle Tune Lessons + 70 Fast/Slow Tune Videos

Post by eskin »

I must be out of my mind, but

I'm offering 30+ of my One-Hour Tin Whistle tune lessons + 70 of my original Tradlessons Fast/Slow tune videos in one discounted $30 bundle!

These lessons are for the advancing intermediate player who already can play a few tunes on the tin whistle and wants to expand their repertoire of common traditional Irish sessions tunes as well as learn about ideas for ornamentation and variation.
In each one-hour tune lesson, I first play the tune up to speed, then slowly.
I then teach the tune phrase by phrase at a relaxed tempo, repeating each phrase multiple times, then combine phrases, then play entire parts, and finally the entire tune multiple times.
After teaching the tune, I then talk about possibilities for the use of ornamentation for the tune as I would play it in a session.
While the lessons refer to the notation (included as a PDF with each lesson), the lessons can either be done with use of the notation or completely by ear.

If you have an issue downloading the entire collection as a .zip file, please let me know.

You should be able to get access to the individual files, and I've contacted Gumroad to find out why their .zip option (they create the zip, not me) is not working for some people.

So, to anyone trying and having issues downloading my 30 tune lesson + 70 tune video bundle on Gumroad using the "Download as .zip" or "Download to Dropbox" options, here's what's going on.

The good news is you can still download all the lessons and related files individually.

The bad news is Gumroad itself isn't doing the right thing when they zip up all the lessons which they then provide as a single download option to customers.

Besides allowing you to download each of the individual lessons an videos, Gumroad (not me) zips up all the files and offers that "all-in-one" download to customers, either to their desktop, device or to Dropbox.

Apparently, their .zip process for product delivery isn't able to handle a bunch of large hour long video lessons, and isn't creating the .zip file, but still offering it to download.

That isn't working, and since the same file would be what gets saved to Dropbox, "Save to Dropbox" isn't working.

I've reported the issue to Gumroad customer service, hopefully I will hear back from them in the coming days.

In the mean time, you should absolutely be able to download any of the files in the bundle individually, and go back and download any additional files as you want to access them.

I believe on the Gumroad Mobile apps, you can access all the content by either downloading or streaming any of your purchases.

Again, I don't have control over this particular issue, so I apologize for any annoyance it may cause.

I'm doing what I can to let Gumroad know that they need to fix this.

They need to either make the .zip downloads work or don't offer them to customers if they aren't able to build one. Alternatively, if total .zip size is an issue build and offer multiple smaller .zips, or do whatever actually works. Or at least let me know when I'm adding files to products that I've exceeded some maximum limit for .zip delivery.

Again, you absolutely can still access all the lessons and videos, just can't download all of them in one click.

Finally some news on the full bundle download-at-once issue with my 30 Tin Whistle lesson bundle on Gumroad.

I finally heard back from Gumroad support and yes, their "Download all as .Zip" feature is broken. I'm hearing some reports that "Download to Dropbox" is working, but takes a long time, or may require you to try a second time.

To help make things a lot easier, I've added my own .zip files to the bundle that contains archives of all the lesson audio, video, and notations to simplify batch download. The individual lesson files are still available if you prefer to get them one at a time.

If you want to download all the videos, audio files, and notation all-at-once instead of one-at-a-time, all you need to do is just download the following seven .zip files individually, and then unzip them on your system:

lesson_video_files_1-6.zip
lesson_video_files_7-12.zip
lesson_video_files_13-16.zip
lesson_video_files_17-18.zip
all_lessons_audio_files.zip
all_lessons_notation.zip
tradlessons_fast_slow_videos.zip

Bundle link:
https://michaeleskin.gumroad.com/l/arfaq

If you purchased the lesson bundle, you should receive an email with this same information. If you go back to your purchase link, you should now be able to download the additional .zip files.

I apologize for the drama, hopefully the new .zip archive files I've added will make things easier for everyone!

Cheers and thanks,

Michael
