Re: TRAD "AIR"
He looks very happy with his ribbon. Just curious, does he earn a special treat for winning a ribbon? Mutepointe, Yes! TRAD gets to swim with those he has a "special fondness" for. :D http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l38/CaydenTrad/8e19d2de3076c6a7a2f081c9fcb12c2b_zps2137481f.jpg TRAD mi...

Re: TRAD "AIR"
GOTCHYA!!! After two years, is this the first ever pic you posted to the whistle forum? Nice one, but I don't see any titles JH, SH, etc. after your name. :D If it makes ye feel better, the pup loves to share a bench with me while I play whistle. :D I do feel better... when Trad sings in Gael...

Re: For serious Julie Fowlis fans
Julie is a fine whistle player and a superb vocalist. She often sings in Scottish Gaelic and has a scholarly appreciation for the culture, history, and language associated with the music. A true artist.

Wow, very sad and coincidentally myself and Ytliek were just speaking together regarding Mike Hawk this past weekend. I will join the many C & F members that count Michael Hawk's passing as a true loss to this online community. My heart and sincere condolences go out to Michael's family, friends...

Mr.Gumby is spot on, ye have to make ye own way, and listen to ALL ye can along the journey. Ye own distillation will happen naturally from there.

Seisiun Featuring Freeman, Ringrose, & Whelan
On April 24th, I had the great pleasure of attending a seisiun hosted by the P.V. O' Donnell Branch of CCE in Milford, Connecticut. Well attended by Trad enthusiasts, all were witness to an evening of the superb musicianship of Jeanne Freeman, Dan Ringrose and John Whelan. Playing music from her rec...

Re: R.I.P Sean Potts
Can anyone please tell me the name of the first tune played by Sean Potts is in this clip? According to the YT comments, it's Gaftaí Baile Buí = The Gates of Ballybay [Yellow Town]. MTGuru, Thanks much! I fell in love with it the moment I heard Sean Potts playing it. I have already started working ...

Re: A 3D printed 'D' whistle
Cayden - you've raised an interesting point I think. (and by the way, thanks for your kind comments!) What makes a great whistle I think, or any instrument, is the knowledge applied to it by the maker or designer, and in the case of brass (and 3D printed?) whistles, by the player who works on it. S...
