Re: RSS Feed Survey

Bummer - I hadn't looked at the sight for months, until I got a notice that someone else had posted to this announcement., I used to check it daily when I had RSS available to weed out all the junk notes about politics and religion. This is a shame. Every other favorite site I use has RSS. It can't ...

Dropping into the Bell Tone

I am having trouble getting a clean transition from a second octave note to the first octave D (on a D whistle). I first noticed this while learning Inisheer. When I tried to play the 1st octave B to the low D, I kept having to either stop the air flow momentarily (which completely blows the tempo) ...

Re: RSS Feed Survey

I used to check my feeds almost daily. This is only the 3rd or 4th time I have checked the forum directly since the RSS feeds disappeared. Why? Because my Google Reader allows me to go thru the entries quickly and read the ones of interest. The forum doesn't have that capacity. I simply don't have t...

Re: New RSS feed URLs

Ok, I'm lost. I have looked thru this entire thread, and have also checked the forum index page and the whistle forum page and can't for the life of me find an RSS link anywhere. I just checked these pages with firefox (my default browser), Internet explorer, and then I reviewed them again with Goog...

Re: Where did the feeds go?

I'm so glad I finally found this thread. I couldn't figure out what had happened. I was beginning to feel "disconnected."

Looking forward to new RSS feed links.

I was introduced to a friend's father a few months ago. The man is in his mid 80's and played fiddle all his life. I encouraged him to break out one of his instruments. I was amazed that even with significant hearing loss you could tell that he had been very, very good! He described taking old 78 re...

FWIW - while you are checking out the other options, I have found that if I simply hang my headset on my laptop screen (with the mic on the screen side) I get a reasonably good recording. I simply sit back at normal typing distance and play away. This link is to a file I made that way using Audacity...
