Re: WTB: Sindt high D DONE
Still looking.
Please also get back to me if you want to consider a trade for another whistle I may own - some highs and lows that may be of interest. Low Burkes and high Thorntons for instance.
Thanks

My culturally flavoured sense of humour related in a medium that doesn't quite work for it, I suppose. Nice to be back!Nanohedron wrote:Eh? What makes you say that?

Re: How long for smell to go away on a Freeman Tweaked whistle?
I've been away from here for a while and it's good to see that the level of whistle discussion is still as detailed as ever. Only here could you peruse the benefits of linseed oil putty fipples. Pity Hoopy Mikes Brit humour still hasn't caught on across the pond...must be somewhere that gets it? Hmm...

Re: New Scottish whistle CD - 'the grit that makes the pearl'
No - the style is contemporary Scottish with some good tunes. The video link on the site to a gig they played in Inverness is pretty good (about 30 mins worth) too although I think the mic for Hugh's whistle playing could have been a bit elevated in volume. Well worth a tenner!

Re: MK low F whistles in that beautiful blue!!!
The black low F arrived a few days ago. Much more presence than my only other low F - a susato - and a bit 'breathier' than the MK low D that I own. I like it! Need to get to know it better.

Re: MK low F whistles in that beautiful blue!!!
Well, I'm on the waiting list for a red MK Low F. Misha told me recently it will be ready in march if everything is all right. I can't wait! I think I've been on the waiting list for over 2 years for the low F. March would be nice. Stephen Quick update. Black anodised low F now paid for and coming ...

Re: The origins of Scottish Airs and the Irish Connection
I'm such a troll. It's shameful, really. :D I note you're from Minneapolis - you're not Prince the purple wonder troll are you? I could sell you some original tartan that your forebears wore whilst hunting haggis here in the mother land! Very cheap and certainly authentic - it said so in a wiki...

Re: I don't like fast Irish tradition music. Give me my airs.
This thread seems to be doing what I suspect it was aimed to do. However, now that it has gone down a different cul de sac of utter conjecture in terms of how our nation came to speak in whatever way - perhaps that topic could be started afresh somewhere else?
