Re: Help ID'ing Mystery Tin Whistle
That seems to be a non-tunable Kerry Songbird. Typically, the later ones were stamped with the date of manufacture (in my case 070307), then KWL, then the name SONGBIRD. They're great whistles, and coveted by some. I have the tunable version, and the fipple design is identical to yours, as is the D ...

Re: Patrick Olwell 6 key cocuswood
When I click the OP's link to the UI Exchange I get a message telling me I'm "not authorized to read this forum", meaning the UIE, but I can simply get there from the Board Index drop down, and when I do, the Olwell 6 key is not there.
Curious.

Re: Kerry Question
I have a Cobre C, and a pre V4 Chieftain C (from 2005). You don't describe any of your preferences, or what you want a C whistle to sound like, however, here's what I think: The Cobre C is a loud, very well in tune, metallic sounding whistle with a focused tone, and very little airy whisper sound. I...

Re: Boxes of basic D whistles for beginner class
I have used Walton's Little Black Tin Whistle for groups and classes. If you call these folks with an order of 25, you may get a better price than $5.99USD ea. https://www.musiciansfriend.com/folk-traditional-instruments/waltons-little-black-tin-whistle-in-d I had to tweak a few of them, but on aver...

Re: Irish Flute Recommendation
If you want a new 6-key build, made to your specifications, in any of a number of woods, with great tone and tuning, at a reasonable price, and reasonable wait time, you should look seriously at this maker: http://www.francoisbaubet.com For a new build with keys from almost any maker, you'll wait a ...

This is what I use for my Baubet Eb Delrin. Works great - not bulky, and space for a whistle or two:

Re: The tourists are back..
I would ditch the rental car, take the train from Dublin to Athenry, transfer to Ennis, then take the bus to Miltown Malbay. You could do that for well under 100 euro, and wouldn't have to fight the traffic and unfamiliar terrain. Once there for the week, a car shouldn't be necessary. If you're plan...

Re: Is it possible to drop two beats in jigs and reels and still sound good when playing solo?
"Is it possible to drop two beats in jigs and reels and still sound good when playing solo?" Simply, the answer is NO. If you're playing with another melody player (box, fiddle, flute, whistle, accordion, etc) then, it's OK, but if you're playing solo - NO - It doesn't matter what your sal...

Re: Want to play Name That Whistle?
#1 could be a Sweet, however, Walt was pretty consistent at numbering and engraving his name/logo on his hand made instruments, so I'd say it might be something else. #2 is probably a Hoover, or an early pocket Feadog with a different head - maybe a Hoover head. #3 looks like a Feadog #4 looks like ...

On that page there is also a contact link for Glazard, which may get you some joy.

Re: ordering cds from Sylvain Barou
The 2018 album "The Last Days of Fall" is available as a download on SoundCloud. It seems the website baroupellen.com has been discontinued. There is no product page on the current sylvainbarou.com, so he must have abandoned it for SoundCloud. He was on thesession.org with the user name na...
