FS: Original Clementi Nicholson Improved

https://www.ebay.com/itm/324257616301

Looking at all the Facebook pictures of a restoration of one of these being done by a Board member and friend to many made me think maybe it was time to list mine on Ebay. Auction ends Monday night.

FS: Rudall Rose and Carte 6530

https://www.ebay.com/itm/324255402140
I have put my Rudall Rose and Carte flute, No. 6530, up for auction on EBay. This flute was the subject of quite a bit of discussion on this site before I bought it in 2014. The comments about its history can be found by entering 6530 in the search engine.

Re: Grinters and Wilkes Flutes

Yes Terry, I am one who struggled with several different flutes until I got my 5 keyed 5088 with the semicircular embouchure from you 10 years ago. I really took to it and it has remained my primary flute to this day. It plays really easily, has the great tone some call reedy, and is in perfect tune...

Re: FS: Noy Unkeyed Boxwood Flute on Ebay

No, the flute did not sell. I agree with Kkrell that this is probably because Peter Noy is not that well known and there are very fine flutes available for half as much. Fortunately, while I am the typical not yet 70 retirees who acquired a few too many flutes over the years and would not mind downs...

Re: Mopane vs. African Blackwood

I had a head made of mopane for quite a nice looking French flute. I mentioned my experience with it a couple of years ago and did not get any support, but will repeat it anyway. The thing tastes funny! As soon as I start playing it, I feel like I have just put walnut shells or some wood in my mouth...

Re: FS: Noy Unkeyed Boxwood Flute on Ebay

Thanks for the kind comments and the great video of Leo playing his Noy. The ones I have played were all great and I am not really good enough to say this embouchure is definitely better than that. I would probably have picked the X cut in most two week trials, but maybe not always. Gold rings sound...

Re: FS: Noy Unkeyed Boxwood Flute on Ebay

I took a picture showing a Wilkes embouchure for R & R #3415, the Noy, and a Copley delrin. Funny, I never realized until I looked at this picture how. misshapen the Copley looks because it has always been a very easy player. Anyway, I would appreciate advice as to how to link it for anyone inte...
