Re: Where are the rebels gone ?

Maybe we need to play Bowie's Rebel Rebel on Uilleann Pipes, fiddle, and tin whistle.

Re: Sweethearts

I can't speak highly enough of Sweethearts. I have one of the older rosewood Ds that I've played as my primary whistle for almost 20 years, and it just gets better and better. ... But with time and playing their character changes quite dramatically. So do wooden whistles change characteristics over...

Re: Newbie here, with some questions!

I have been playing for about 10 years and I like my Clarke Original even though I own some more expensive whistles. My Clarke was in tune and sounded great right out of the box, (to me at least). Howie I cut my whistling teeth* on clarkes. I think the breath issues with clarkes are geneally over-r...

Re: A joyous day for whistles! (For me, anyway.)

You must have a Sugar Mama, does she have a sister??? Wonder what the deal is. He's not that good-looking. Thanks for that... :p ..... That's just in the world of music. I also picked up a lawn mower, which I am now semi-regretting. Lawn looks better, but man does it suck to cut grass... :( Well at...

Re: First gig tonight!

The gig last night was a great deal of fun. We had about 60-70 people in the audience and they really seemed to enjoy our playing, and even the rotten Irish jokes. If any of you have the chance, I'd recommend playing for folks in old age homes. Even if you don't think you're very good, the resident...

Yes the low is the same fingering as is the Irish Flute. :)

For my money the Dixon Traditional is the best bang for the buck.

I love my Clark Original as well though.

Have any of you who've been to Stonehenge been healed?

Clark original - natural tin - no paint. Do they still sell them? Bought one with the gold diamonds that was close, but no cigar! It was my second whistle and the one I am most comfortable with as it has been in my hands the most I guess. http://www.whistleanddrum.com/the-original-clarke-penny-whis...

Re: Male dogs?

I am getting a male German Shepherd very soon. All my life I have had female dogs and loved them. A lot of people are telling me that male dogs are way dumber, so I am getting a male dog for a change. If you have had experience owning a male dog, could you please tell me how that experience has bee...
