Playing Bagpipes at Home :)

Here I show you the INSOGAITA, a good dispositive for play bagpipes at home with the half of the original potency of the instrument. Originally developed for Galician Gaitas, you can use it for any bagpipe (some german clients are waiting one for their medieval bagpipes). You have a good inner space...

New C chanter from Pablo Carpintero

Pablo Carpintero has designed a new chanter, based on a model from his grandfather mixed with an old chanter from El Bierzo (near to Leon). Is tuned in C, and can be played in open fingering an also in galician closed-fingering. But the best thing is that you can overblow notes very easy, you can pl...

FS: Galician gaita with Seivane Chanter

For personal problems, I´m offering my boxwood gaita in C. It´s made by Xose Luis Lopez Bao, an old maker that makes loud drones. It has bass and tenor drone (ronco and ronqueta). It´s made in beautifull galician boxwood (orange colour), with metal rings. It has a Seivane boxwood chanter in C, with a...

Re: Four-Voiced Gaita made by Pablo Carpintero

Dear Friends: Ciarameddaru, I have to trie with beeswax one day, but in Spain there is another big problem with traditional bagpipes: we can´t find a lot of people who makes goat bags :( Pancelticpiper, I´m sure that scottish and galician bagpipes have a common past, maybe conscious or maybe unconsc...

Four-Voiced Gaita made by Pablo Carpintero

Here is my new gaita: a great reproduction of an old model made by Antonio Castro from Vilariño (Sobrado dos Monxes, A Coruña) circa 1920. This is a “Gaita de Galleto”, because the Galleto was the name employed for the common stock for the tenor drone (ronqueta) and the soprano double-reed drone (gr...

Re: gaita galega: seivane workshop in youtube

My Dear Friend Ciarameddaru: The use of wax in Galicia, Asturias, Zamora, Mallorca and other pipers regions has a long historic past. In Mallorca, for example, pipers uses wax not only for holes: they use it for fix the reed to the chanter. In Galicia, some pipers used to put a mix of differents ing...

Re: ¿ Quiet pipes that play 1 1/2 octave, closed fingering ?

My dear Art: I haven´t tried the e-pipes but think in this: They work into your bagpipe bag, with real air, and you can configure the type of virtual reed (easy, hard, very hard, medium, etc). You can get the second octave. It seem like a real chanter. You can play with headphones or with speakers. ...

Re: ¿ Quiet pipes that play 1 1/2 octave, closed fingering ?

My Dear Friend: I have the same desire as you. But with the question of the second octave notes, think about this: How many tunes do you play that needs the second octave? It´s really a necessary thing? If you play asturian bagpipes, you need the second octave only in some songs, not all. A good ide...
