Not this kind of contraption, but Andreas Rogge has been offering tuning slides on his chanters for years. Hendrik Morgenbrodt, who apprenticed with Andreas, does them as well.

Re: Mikis Theodorakis RIP
Song of songs My love how beautiful she is In her everyday dress, With a little comb in her hair. Nobody knew how beautiful she was. Young girls of Auschwitz, Young girls of Dachau, Have you seen my love? We saw her on a long journey She no longer had her everyday dress Nor the little comb in her ha...

Re: RIP Hans-Jörg Podworny
Hans-Jörg was a giant and pivotal for the German piping community. Already an accomplished folk musician, he spend some of his teacher years in Ireland and decided to become a piper and pipemaker. He co- founded the German Piper's club and was, along with Andreas Rogge and Tom Kannmacher, the man to...

Re: http://www.kmbagpipes.com
Kenneth has been making pipes for many years now. I once had an early experimental Set of C drones from him, rock steady pipes and a pipemaker easy to deal with. Kenneth has a reputation for good quality, reasonably priced instruments - and is always willing to experiment. His 3D printed transparent...

Re: Aebi Full Set
No takers? I see one particular full set on his website. I am quite sure this is his personal set, the one Tom has been playing for decades. Whether it is his own make from when he worked with Andreas Rogge (certainly looks nothing like a Rogge) or someone elses - I never bothered to ask Tom.

20 years is plausible. I think I first saw the plain silver ones in online stores around 2000 or a bit later.

I have the CD this is on. A true gem with live efforts from Altan, De Danann and said trio.

Re: A good high D for loud sessions
I suggest you put on a hat while whistling to amplify your playing. Just like Paddy Keenan does. Just think of the poor listeners if you add a shrieking whistle to the banjocordion cacophony. In my usual sessions, there are whistlers who play honking Goldie High Ds. Tbh, they make me cringe, even fo...

Re: A question about the Generation Greenhead whistles
My very first whistle was a blacktop nickel Generation, marketed as a "James Galway" pennywhistle. It was useless for folk, of course, could only play Vivaldi and Bach. I gave it away.
EDIT: Hey, just noticed I've reached 500 posts since June 2001. Congrats, old chap

Nothing. Maybe leprechauns living inside. But I haven't noticed any difference from the redtop ones.

Re: Walton's Mellow D - still the same?
I have a recently bougth Mellow D, and it has a very sharp bell note, and the same problem with the G note. Does anyone know if the traditional "Irish whistle" in D from Waltons has these (or other) problems too? I used to own both. I don't remember the "Irish Whistle" having th...

Re: Walton's Mellow D - still the same?
Ah thanks. I think I might try my luck ordering one or two. Yes, lengthening the tube is an option. I believe Jerry Freeman does this on his Mellow Dog model, a tweaked Mellow D.
