F'S- Solen LeSouef Eb Keyless
I purchased this flute brand new 6 months ago and have hardly played it. It's a R&R style in Blackwood with silver rings and plays beautifully.

Re: Looking for a sound
Eimear McGeown makes Roy's whistles sound as they should do, and Roy is a gentleman to deal with, I wouldn't buy a whistle from anyone else since dealing with him.

Re: Engine Turning of Flute Bands
Cheers for sharing Casey, I know another maker who has a rose engine, it looks a clumsy piece of machinery but the end result is class.

Re: I made a Flute
Ok so I've moved on a little bit since I last posted. Sales of the Aluminium flutes have slowed down and I have sold a few Delrin flutes in D. I took on some repairs for flute bands and have been very busy with this so instead of buying the missus more shoes, I treated myself to a wood turning lathe...

Hi Bobbie
You may get a better response if you post an actual photo of your flute, the list you link to isn't of your flute but about 100 flutes, I find people engage more when they don't have to search through hundreds of images to find one that looks a bit like yours.

I would send it back to whomever overhauled it and ask them to finish the job.

Re: Hello and piccolo advice!
Hi Allan, great to hear from piccolo players/learners. I have a few piccolos including keyed Peter Worrells and as with all new flutes they will take a while to blow them in and will improve over time. I make keyless Piccolos in D and Bb and mainly sell these to players of Bb high pitched band flute...

Re: Mullan flutes, any one play one of their recent flutes?
I have just serviced 16 Mullan Bb flutes for a band recently and these were marked with the Mull Wilkes stamp which were their earlier models and they aren't bad for the money. I have owned one of their F flutes in Polymer before but it wasn't in tune. As far as Iam aware all their flutes are made i...

Re: Which F Keys?
Before I even owned a six key piccolo or flute, I only ever played flutes which had a short F key and managed very well playing marches, jigs and reels. I now own a few 6 key flutes and it feels alien to use my left hand to play the f key. I get by just fine with the short F and unless it causes you...

Re: Sourcing Suitable Dry hardwood for Flutemaking
I've heard that they'll be including Delrin with the CITES listing as most border guards can't tell it from Blackwood. I must admit I've always been an advocate of the Blackwood flutes however after making one in Delrin last week I am struggling to hear any noticable difference between them. The De...
