Re: Carbony High D flute?
I bought one of Jem the Flute’s (a member here) many years ago and still love it. Not sure if he still makes them, but wouldn’t hurt to ask. It’s cylindrical, not conical, but it plays incredibly well!

Re: How to leard to blow the bag
Good lord! I'm as bad as the original poster!!! I meant to change the "d" to an "n"!!!! To Mr Gumby: to be a little more precise: change "leard" to "learn"...

I kinda think "easy to play flute" is an oxymoron! But I agree that playing any decent flute will only increase your abilities...

A LITTLE off topic... Peel and shred the cukes, add some olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and garlic salt (maybe some salt and pepper). Trust me!

Re: Cork Grease - ecological
I’ve actually used Burt’s Bees and it works fine for cork or delrin joints. I think I’ve used lanolin and Chap Stick at various times, too…

Not sure what you mean… Can you post a diagram or better explanation?

JemtheFlute (a member here) used to make one in PVC that plays really well - I have one and love it! You might be able to talk him into resuming production???

Re: Wooden whistles
For future reference (and buying, of course), delrin is a good compromise and quite a few makers use it. My current “go to” is a Paul Busman in delrin - it is full of awesomeness! Just played it almost constantly on a two-day reenactment gig.

Re: You're stranded on an ireland...
I'd say if you were stranded in Ireland, you'd have lots of places to get a whistle!
However - if it was on an island, I think I'd stick with my Aisling (or maybe a Killarney).
