Re: A watched kettle never boils?

Working customer service, customers always seem to walk in when you need to use the restroom.

Also, we have this guy that comes to our office to wash our cars. He always seems to come two days before payday and the day before it rains. Seriously.

Re: RFC: Box of Traveling Whistles

Just an idea because I have seen it before with these is, instead of a list, the person who is ready to ship the box will post something like, "Next person to respond to this post gets it". That makes sure the next person is aware of what they are "signing" up for and reduces the...

Re: RFC: Box of Traveling Whistles

I supposed the communication could be handled much like a whistle tour. When someone receives the box, they report here that they did, and then they report again when and who they shipped it to and so on and so forth. I've seen similar "tours" on a coin collecting forum that I used to freq...

We must use different dictionaries, you and I.
365 votes to 173. Electoral votes decide the winner in the U.S of A. By popular vote, the gulf was about 10 million which wasn't that much. 53% vs 46%.

Re: Astonishing genealogical discoveries.

I would just think about it as a cool fact about your family. There's always some dark patches in each person's family. Everyone is likely to uncover thieves, murderers and other criminals in their family tree (myself included). Cousins marrying other cousins, slave owners, ancestors that fought on ...

Re: Geek oracle: Moving XP to new system by swapping C: drive?

I have a hard drive that's essentially followed me through several computer builds. It all started with a Gateway essential from many years back that came pre-installed with Windows ME. I've upgraded the hard drive more than once by simply transferring the contents from one hard drive to a newer hig...
