WATCH OUT!
Hi everyone, as you all know I recently sold my full set of pipes in boxwood. I packed them up this morning and sent them to their new home in America. I was therefore very surprised to find them up for sale in the French auction site " le bon coin" for 1900 euros! :o http://www.leboncoin....

Re: Great boxwood fullset for sale
There are beautiful bellows with the pipes, they are made of cherry with some ebony inlay and french polished and handstitched as opposed to nailed. They have leather pads (for hip and elbow) also handstitched. The leather is double thickness the outer layer being deer skin. They are a few years old...

Re: Great boxwood fullset for sale
The reserve wasn't met on ebay and so I am dropping my price to 6500 euros instead of the 7000 I was looking for originally. In all fairness it is a very good price as Froment used to charge 10000 euros 2 years ago and other makers charge more than this as well as having huge waiting lists! I would ...

The set has a lot of caracter, you don't see alot of concert pitch fullsets made of boxwood. The chanter and regs are based on Leo Rowsome and the drone...

Re: Regulators, Rhythm and Piles of Pulled Hair
Take a simple tune that you know really well, so well you don't even have to think about it. The Lark in the Morning is a good one, just the first part. The chord structure is just D and G. With this you can practice holding, vamping, syncopation ect. It's just like patting your head and rubbing you...

I never use anything on the back D. This note is so important it has to be perfect. Get a new a new reed or a new chanter!

Re: Keep Reed From Destroying itself .. HOW ?
This may sound a little strange but bad playing can also destroy a reed. Your pipemaker can give you something wonderful but if the reed is pushed and pulled in the wrong way it will die

Re: Regarding bag covers
Hi Elbogo
I'd say no bag cover at all! The bag is intrinsically involved in the control of the reed and I feel personally that although they look nice, they ultimtely interfere with the serious buisness of playing music!
