Re: On the fence
After I posted I realized that the comments were balanced for either system and useless for making a decision I listened to a lot of box playing over the past couple days My mind says B/C my heart says C#/D... Drive, rhythm, old style, FUN yet capable of subtle play as well Pick either and go with i...

Re: On the fence
I am primarily a one row player, but have owned and dabbled with B/C and C#/D though only for a short time Some things to help you in your decision ( right ! ) " I switched from B/C to C#/D because I got tired of playing on the pull"... Mairtin O/Connor in a phone call about 8 years ago wh...

Re: ebay concertinas/accordions
Too many ebay stories of bad or misrepresnted accordions/concertinas One ebay seller to be wary of ( pardon the preposition) neufie bob I believe He knows little about them, as evidensed by his descriptions ... and that would be a polite comment there are others, but he stands out know thy dealer Bu...

Re: New tutor for chromatic harmonica in Irish music
Thanks Steve
Yes I was referrring to one of Brendan's customs
I understand the chromatic scale and the chromatic instruments
but in the case of Brendan's custom D/G , the bodies are "chromatics"
Again thanks for the heads up

Re: New tutor for chromatic harmonica in Irish music
Not having seen the tutorial yet
Is this intended for the standard "solo" tuned 12 Hole harmonicas on in D and one in G
or a Chromatic in D/G ?

Re: Concertina before button accordion?
There are box players who also play concertina such as John Williams and Billy Mac.. I don't think one preceeds the other. As to the concertina types and the type of reed.. I am a former Jeffires owner.. 38 button... ( bought it for $300 US...correct $300 US) I sold it to a fine player... Since then...

Hohner 1 row
I have always heard these Hohner models to be referred to as
A Hohner 4 stop or 3 stop or 2 stop
Or with the Vienna model a 1 row 4 bass
I have owned the four bass 2 reed models and like them very much
however I have modified them a bit
