Re: Flutemaker Francois Baubet
Just like to chime in. I have a keyless blackwood flute from Francois and it plays great. I stupidly left it in a hot car earlier this year and it developed a crack in the barrel. I emailed him on how to get it fixed - he said send it back and he would fix free of charge - Even though it was my faul...

Re: Sweet's Conical Delrin Low D
I have the Onyx and really like it. It's an easy stretch and the ornaments sound crisp and fast. I also like the tone, which a little on the reedy side. Great Whistle.

Good thought about Dave C. - Maybe I'll try to corner him if he's coming to Swannanoa this year...

I enjoy this group a lot too. I heard John Skelton say once that the Irish flute is a percussion instrument.

Re: Rob Forbes flute
I love my Forbes flute that I've had for about 3 years. Try piper's grip, works great on a keyless flute and is easier on the hands and shoulders.

Re: Have you ever played a Quena ?
I would second the recommendation for http://www.unmundodebambu.com.ar/quenasi.htm
I have a quenacho and a transverse flute in D from him. Workmanship and sound are great.

Re: BANSURI PITCH
I have bought bansuri's from http://www.one-world-trading.com/ and have been pleased with the service and the flutes are great(by Pratap Gujar). I have a low A (all holes closed) and a D. I think a common key is low B(all holes closed) though all sizes(keys) of flutes are used. Finger holes are larg...

Re: Boxwood Canada
Thanks for the info on Boxwood Canada - I would really like to go.
Does anyone know when they usually have the instructor/class list available?
Looks like they still have 2008 info on the website.

Boxwood Canada
I just found out the dates for Boxwood Canada this year are July 19-26.
Can anyone compare the Boxwood camp to Swanannoa or Augusta?
Aside from the general emphasis on flutes?
Teachers? Housing? Atmosphere?
Thanks -
Mike
