I would also recommend getting a few more Oaks, as I have at least 10, all tweaked with wax, and only one real favorite among the batch.

I don't know if this has already been addressed, but if you take the price of one Copeland whistle and multiply it by the number of keys it can't play, I'm guessing it would cost around $5,000, or more, to be able to play in all keys. Compared to other kinds of instruments, which play in all keys, a...

P.S.

My old imac doesn't mesh the sound of youtube with the visual, but it does appear that she might be playing in the key of A (again, speaking as if her Bb was a D whistle), which will give her the low note she played. Actually she did all this just to get our attention!

It plays as a Bb whistle, starting on a G, as speaking about a D whistle, but when she plays the lowest note in the third measure, that would be like playing a C, as if the whistle was longer and had a 7th hole. Maybe she had an extension put on. I doubt it, but who knows.

Oh, I forgot. I too would like to buy a couple of whistles from The Whistleshop, but was wondering how things were going. Sounds like hit and miss.

Every Oak I have has gotten waxed. Wax just makes everything sound better, especially the low notes. I did try a White Cap on the body of an Oak, years ago, but it didn't fit well. I'm sure Mack has that under control.

I'll bring a chair for you.

Now what was it that no one was going to say to me? I can't remember. Oh well. This should be fun. I am bringing my fiddle. Limuhead?....

I'm playing trumpet with a group down in So Cal on the 26th & 27th. After that, I'm playing in a fiddle jam on sept. 16.

I traded an O'Riordan C/D set and an Overton low C for a Copeland Low D. It has no serial number, so I'm guessing that it's an older model...maybe even made by Copeland himself. The trade was worth it. I hardly played the other whistles, and the Copeland is the best.

No Westcoast Whistle Gathering?

I'd like to get my chair back.

I left it at Tony's last year. It was brand new! Hope Tony's mom likes it.

I have that songbook, but I never listen to or play that particular song, because my wife's name is mentioned in the song, and it's just too sad to think about.
