Hello All! I'm a member from the distant past, trying to make a foray into Uilleann Piping. I have a few questions just to fill in some lack of information mainly: - I know of Daye and Skye's work, and they are well spoken of. However I haven't found anything much about Childress. Is there anybody w...

Lexxicos, completely off topic. Every time I come across one of your posts I involuntarily shy back at the photo. is it you? or is it someone else? If it's you, my sincere apologies. Ah. It's some random person. Thanks for asking though. I was thinking I should get a better one... This 'un doesn't ...

The practice chanter I am speaking of has a top like a practice chanter that can be removed and the chanter is then put on a set of smallpipes, the same chanter. They are interchangable. Making for a very easy transition between pracice chanter and set of pipes. These are available for smallpipes, ...

Hello, I am not sure if you are looking for a practice chanter for GHB or others. I know that you can get a practice chanter for small pipes that is also the chanter for the set of smallpipes. That is, a chanter that is made into a practice chanter and also attaches to a set of smallpipes if and wh...

If its learning by ear you like, the only place I have seen and can recommend is this blog, with quite a bit of Podcasts and lessons from an aspiring teacher, if I remember correctly. http://smallpiper.blogspot.com/ Check it out, she is quite good, and I believe it fits your bill perfectly. I also b...

They all come in key of A=440, some may come in A=466, but this is probably very rare. Most don't use the PC as an actual instrument, so no one really worries about what key it is in or whether or not it meshes well. However, I would recommend you steer clear from the real "Cheapo" brand P...

*Cough* http://www.eitre.com/sound.asp?lang=en *cough* Listen to the one that is described as "Song", and the one that is "Jig/Song". They are slow, in m opinion. They also have one off their CD called "The Flower of Magherally" which is right up your alley. Listen, for...

Eitre has some excellent vocals you might enjoy. You can find their site and a few sound samples here:

Their CD is also available off iTunes, or you can just order it. I would highly recommend it - an excellent album.

How far do you have to walk in what you find "refreshing" to get any where?
About 2-3 blocks.

Oh, I'm fine with reports for communications and ideas purposes, but the Thesis, support, support, support, conclusion model is, well, it steals a bit of my zest for life with every word I write. I can write one well, I just don'tlike doing them much.

I always tend to imagine the: "O' high I rocked her, Ho' I rocked her, Didn't I rock her well?" "For a fanny old wife ?...? her daughter, I rocked her into Hell." Portion of the song as saying that the boy had succeeded in doing the nasty, getting past the parents, or at least th...

The ones I've lately dug up and listened to are: Eliot Grasso: Standing Room Only - A superb piper with ridonkulously good fingers. There are some tracks in particular that show off his genius. David Power: My Love is in America - Probably the most sophisticated playing style I've really listened to...
