hello, I play a "frankenset"... most of it is by matt kiernan, and made from greenheart. Almost looks like mahogany, but it seems harder and denser. The regs are not made from greenheart, but possibly cocobolo or a similar rosewood, and the workmanship is definately not to the same standar...

shameful self promotion

hi, just wanted to let you all know that my band The Duhks has a new self-titled CD out on Sugarhill Records. It was produced in Nashville by Bela Fleck and Gary Paczosa, and although it is NOT traditional Irish music, there are uilleann pipes on two of the tracks, and some irish tunes mixed in with...

Andreas rogge sells a great bag seasoning. easy to use and will probably last indefinately. And it's non-greasy, so it won't wreck your best piping shirts.

it's on the prices page under accessory.

I once raced through a festival campground in florida at 4 in the morning on the back of a golfcart plying tunes with a banjo player who was stting up front. We were hunting for alligators...
You can probably guess at the level of sobriety on display that night.

for those interested in pipemaking

Hi I decided to repost this from the uilleann reamer thread... hoping it might generate a few more responses. it seems there's enough interest in reamers to make it worthwhile looking into having a run made by a machine shop somewhere. I would imagine if we all got together and (here might be the tr...

hello, it seems there's enough interest in reamers to make it worthwhile looking into having a run made by a machine shop somewhere. I would imagine if we all got together and (here might be the tricky part) decided on the dimensions we could get a bunch made for relatively cheap. (i.e. <$300). Mayb...

hello, ordered a half set in B, ebony brass and boxwood. Didn't think to ask if he would take less than 50% down... He figured I'd be waiting about a year. Don't know if it's longer for a full set? He did have a beautiful full set in B, ebony brass and art ivory I think, that he was building on spec...

Awesome guy. Awesome piper. Truly awesome pipes.
I'm the newest addition to his waiting list (which is still pretty short!).
