Re: Ordering flutes Into the US during the current times?

USPS is taking parcels. We receive them in regularly.

Our last few international orders going out are experiencing longer transit times. As such, we have just switched to DHL for all international shipments during this season.

Re: WTB: 6-key Flute Lesoef / Watson / other - pref.sent fro

What a steal Loren! I was surprised to see your Watson take so long to sell and that you had to drop the price. The market is much larger than our awesome little community here. At IFS, instruments are priced based on makers' current pricing, wait time & comps. We'd be doing a disservice to make...

Re: Six key Olwell flute for sale

Some of you might have seen on Facebook that this was my friend and film maker Jem Moore's main flute. He found it while we were filming The Keymaster. Last year he had triple bypass surgery and shared on the Keymaster Facebook page that he is selling to knock out the rest of his medical bills. Real...

Re: Antique Clark (no E?) - Any guesses on age?

I should add that Jim at Clarke said...

"Definitely looks like a CLARKE , the only thing I can think of is that Clarke did produce ‘own brand’ whistles for a number of British companies over many years, particularly for export!
Regrettably I cannot give a date of manufacture."

Antique Clark (no E?) - Any guesses on age?

Trying to estimate the date of this antique Clark (no E?) that just arrived in the shop. I reached out to Clarke and they didn't know either. Anyone here have an somewhat educated guess? Re: Paul Haywards Silkstone Alloy D Whistle

Hey Thomas! I was going to email you directly but I though others might like to know that the closest I've found to Silkstones these days are Andy's Galeon brand whistles: https://www.irishflutestore.com/collections/featured-whistles/products/galeon-aluminum-high-d-whistle My main "axe" fo...

SteveB wrote:I suspect that a freshly oiled flute plays better for the same reason that a newly washed car runs better.
Steve - You beat me to it! :)

That said, Desi Seery used to oil his Delrin flutes for the same reason.

Re: Copelands for Sale

I'll occasionally hear of folks who have had a "bad" Copeland but in all our years working with Michael directly ( we used to carry them at Whistle & Drum ) and now offering them second had at Irish Flute Store, I've yet to come across one (a bad one that is...) I'll let you know here ...

Re: Sindt and Water Weasels

You can now see what certain instruments sold for on IFS by browsing the sold sections - which does fluctuate over time based on the market.

Hope that helps.

Re: Copelands for Sale

Yep, Copeland & Sindts have been selling at strong prices these days. Prices at IFS are set by the current market demand which is researched via eBay, other online forums, past sales history from W&D and IFS, etc...
