The Low-Tech Whistle page is BROKEN -> new site
Hello everyone, it was bound to happen, sooner or later. Google has decided to move all its free hosted pages to its new Google Sites service. My "How to Make a PVC Whistle" page, which used to be hosted at http://guido.gonzato.googlepages.com/whistle.html (bad link right now) was automati...

Re: Dixon Trad on steroids?
So I'll get a tweaked Mellow Dog! And in due time, I'll try and make a brass whistle myself. Thanks for your suggestions!

Re: Dixon Trad on steroids?
Thank you, Jem, but I realise I didn't make my point clear. What I'm looking for is not just a louder instrument (I also own a Susato, or my own whistles that serve me well). I'd love to get a louder AND traditional sounding whistle. You know, I've fallen in love with the traditional sound ty...

Dixon Trad on steroids?
Hello,
a quick question. Currently, my favourite whistle is the Dixon Trad, but I'd like something more powerful. My "perfect" whistle would be a louder Dixon Trad, if it existed. Has anybody tried other Dixon brass whistles? Are they louder?
Thanks!

Yet another way to tame a Susato: poster putty
Hello, as usual, I'm happy to share a little piece of information that could be useful to Susato whistles players. In addition to the O-ring trick, mentioned here: http://forums.chiffandfipple.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=50113 I found that a pea-sized ball of poster putty, properly placed on the lab...

Re: 100 Reasons to play the whistle
48. Play a whistle and people will smile, tap their feet and clap their hands 49. It's a very simple instrument, but may end up playing with big musicians at a lovely theatre (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_aywUzx_qo) 50. You can make your own whistle. 51. You can pack a whistle virtually anywhere...

Re: Low Whistle Recommendations
Shamelessly blowing my trumpet... You could consider a GG Low D. It's made of PVC, it sounds airy (but not too much), and it's pretty inexpensive. I make them
