We named our son "Bran"--not said like the food, but the Welsh way, like "Bron." I know he'll have to face mis-pronounciation in his life but it's such a cool name. We got it from Susan Cooper's 5-book "The Dark is Rising" fantasy children's series.

I'll bump it for you this year, Gary...I absolutely love this tune. I once wrote and asked the author for the sheet music and he was very nice and said he'd try to write it down and get it up for us...but that was years ago and he's probably very busy or forgot. Anyway, for those who haven't seen th...

My home city of Edinburgh is usually mispronounced by non-Scots - most often as 'Edinborough'. It should rhyme with kookaburra (the Australian bird), as in Edin-burra. Colin Or you might make the huge travesty of a mistake as I did once, mentioning JK Rowling's adopted hometown of "Edin-BURG&q...

Case in point: * The "Lost" bi-monthly magazine * The recent mention of a "mystery novel manuscript" that Hurley found in plane crash debris, The Bad Twin . The only reason this book was mentioned is because there's a book by the very same name that's being published soon...suppo...

Woo hoo!! I'm SG-1. My favorite TV show (and SG Atlantis is really terrific, too). I was also very happy to find out that Star Trek: TNG is close behind, and also Star Wars. Two other favorites.

Wow, thanks for the replies, everyone! I really appreciate your time, insight, and recommendations. I got worried that I'd run out of time and couldn't order anything, so I went to Borders and looked at their Bluegrass section. They didn't have any of those handy listening things where you can scan ...

Banjo music recommendations?

Hi all! I'm pretty sure there are some banjo players here, so I was wondering if you could give me any recommendations for a good banjo CD? I don't want vocals--just instrumental. My husband loves banjo music and I want this for a Father's Day present for him. So far the best one to me (of the clips...

Though I know nothing of Glenn personally, and have never played or heard his whistles, I know he contributed so much to the whistle world and I am very sorry for his loss. I will pray for his family.

Someone mentioned The Monkees as the worst...I loved that show as a kid (watching reruns in the 80's), and love it now! Sure it's cheesy and ridiculous, but loads of fun! :) As for dumbest, I haven't seen it and never will, but how about that new Pamela Anderson sitcom? The previews alone should be ...
