Re: Chanter Stop Switch

Fold the neck of the bag back on itself and against the chanter top. Nothing fancy needed.

Re: CP Stainless Steel Staples by Howard Music Ltd

I think we should respect Brians investment and order his reeds/staples instead of trying to copy his procedure which probably wouldn't turn out as well anyhow.

Re: Dry chanter reed

I personally don't use vibrato much on the e, but use the e flat as a lead in note. If I want vibrato I'll shake the two e fingers above but not closing the holes. Hitting the side of the holes and chanter on the knee. Vibrato on the back D is by wavering the C# finger or the f#, depending on your D...

Hemp is the norm and the occasional mortar like projectile is not uncommon when the season gets dry.

Re: Uilleann Pipes wood, mounts, and tone

Pick up the saxaphone, that goes well with electric guitars. That only has one reed. The basic full set has 7 reeds and you are talking about 10 reeds or so. Re: Uilleann Pipes wood, mounts, and tone

Its hard to believe what I just read. Take Bills advice and get a cheap practice set. Practice for a few years and then make a decision. Don't write about multiple regs and drones untill you have used a bellows. Physically you will find it challenging.

Sterling silver and real friggin' ivory, handsome looking! The beadwork on all the silver bits and mainstock cup makes it stand out from all the rest. Those silver keys look pretty sturdy. Nice looking kit.

Re: My Uilleann Pipes won't play right

Call Pat Skye and see about getting a new reed. Also, don't lend out your pipes, the reeds are too sensative.

Looks like a manly sized set. Also sounds like you raised a handsome sum in one night. Congratulations!
