I already intended to call them some time this week about instructors in the area..hadn't thought of as...

1.) How can you tell something is a Pakistani flute?

2.) List characteristics for determining same so this doesn't become a "Is this a Pakistani Firewood in the Key of D" post.

A [slightly edited] quote from the second entry above should tell you what you need to know: "..., but has ... hardly any use ..." As a general rule: If you find the word "Pakistan" on a flute-selling page, close the window and keep searching. Many on this forum call those items...

On the plus side, you guys and some other sources have fairly turned me off to the Pakistani flutes... I have to say, I was concerned from the get-go about a $25 handmade wooden flute... now i'm trying to convince my wife i deserve this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/Beautiful-Cocus-Wood-Irish-Flute-Flut...

Although it varies a bit by maker, mainly the 8 hole just allows you to poke the cat from farther away. Not necessarily a bad thing. That's hilarious... I'll definitely remember that for a long time.. On the plus side, you guys and some other sources have fairly turned me off to the Pakistani flute...

Yeah....Tipple's plans are the ones I used..I know that I play better than it does because it won't consistently hit notes I know it should be hitting. Basically, as was mentioned, I don't have the experience Tipple has, and I know that a PVC flute would play just fine, just not MY pvc flute. That b...

That being said...I'm tired of that flute, I've gotten to the point where I play better than it does... So...my question is, do I stay with a six-hole flute when I buy a...
