In the second picture the main quavers have stacato dots above them, as soon as you sound them you should stop them. Then there's a quaver rest before starting the next double cut.

I won't order anything direct from the US because of the customs bill i received once. Even though i already paid for the postage, Parcel Force who handled the package at this end added a £13 administration charge on top of the VAT and Import Duty for processing the package through customs. Burke wh...

I've played a couple of the aluminum body type Dixons and i kept overblowing them all the time - very wimpy whistles.

No problems with the Dixon trad, there's more backpressure and it's far more stable throughout.

The old feadog heads were wonderful, i really don't like the new ones.

I'd recommend a Dixon Trad for a beginner. A few more pounds than a feadog but far superior all round.

Some whistles just sound pooh in the second octave.

Some whistles need good breath control to make them sound nice.

Some whistles play nicely with ease.

What whistle are you playing?

Very few people ever spell Screeeech!!! correctly when mentioning me in what they write on the forum (posts?). Usually it's just Screech, but as i can't be bothered to write Screeeech!!! to correct them i suppose i can't really expect them to write Screeeech!!! either. It's even worse when i'm away ...

I cut exactly the same for rolls as i do for cuts on their own. See my post on page 1.

I've learned a few tunes in DADGAD but am curious as to the suggestions of using this tuning to play melodies. Is it easier to pick out the melodies in DADGAD? The way i see it, DADGAD is a diatonic tuning making your guitar more like a whistle, as aposed to EADGAE which is a chromatic tuning makin...
