Hey, Jerry, do you make the C body available separately, for those of us who already have a D?

Re: Little Love for Piper's Grip?

And if some of you thought my preceding post was going to go something like this:- I have never owned a Clarke Tinwhistle. Someone wrote their phone number on a Clarke info sheet and gave me their phone number that way. I was tidying a drawer this morning and found it. It says, phone: 02 9XXX XXXX ...

Re: First Time at a session (in Minnesota)

You try sitting in a session that has 20 participants lol Try something like thirty , which is the unholy monster we had one Christmastime. Try ninety-three , at the Olympia Summer Session in (I believe) 2005. To be honest, this was a "try for a world record of people playing Drowsy Maggie tog...

Re: best whistle for sticking in your pocket?

Are "Laughing Whistles" still being made? As I recall, those were telescoping conical brass whistles designed for fitting in a shirt pocket.

Strange, then, that he didn't announce his retirement from whistle-making himself.

Looks like Tilbury/GFM whistles are no more...

From the official website: We are no longer accepting orders from the public! I am currently selling off my stock of whistles at a reduced price. All sales are final. :-? And I was just about to contact Chuck (who I hadn't realized had moved to Texas from Granite Falls) about some playability diffic...

Re: The Generations Test!

Hi all! Just got a red-headed Generations whistle set and was wondering how one goes about testing to see if the whistles are duds or the few rare good ones? As far as I can tell the D, Bb, C and F all play pretty decently, but what do I need to look for to see if these are keepers? As far as I can...

I have a Susato low D but once you get the trick of making the reach and sealing the tone holes well, there really isn't any special effort needed to play it--as low whistles go, it's an easy player. I've had a keyed Susato low D for about a year, and I find it nearly impossible to play! As far as ...

To me, the Meg and Sweetone sound pretty much the same. The tone is very breathy compared to the Generation. Many people like it though. It's an easy whistle to play, but it can sound a little toy-like in the lower register. I'd only disagree with the "a little" in the last sentence. Swee...

Cool - so we can also have a competition about "who's got the oldest McCullough". :) Mine says "<<copyright symbol>> L. E. McCullough 1976". The back cover has a note saying that an accompanying cassette tape is available from the publisher for $4. I've got the same one. It seem...

How "really old" could it be if it were named "Walton's?" As far as I can recall, that brand was still known as "Soodlums" as recently as 1983 (since I have one I bought back then).
