Looks good but.... weird position as normally on a Pastoral pipe it is on top. Is it a baritone regulator?

Re: Wanted: set of practice pipes
Hi Jennifer and welcome to the forum - we all seem nice !!! interesting comment, we must be slipping Where abouts are you located as it is easier to advise Eire, UK, USA, somewhere else ? First off a warning to beware the majority of bargain offerings on Ebay and similar sets as they are made in Pak...

Re: Ebay Items
This is a full set of Uilleann pipes, or Irish Bagpipes. Extras included. These pipes belonged to my father. My brother used them for a time as well. He said they worked fine, no issues. He also said this is a complete set - reeds are included, and the bellows functions fine. I'm including several ...

Re: Metal ferrule decoration
Check out Chris Wilkes' engine turning. http://wilkesflutes.co.uk He has some amazing machines there , I think thats a Holtzapffel lathe in one of the photos, he's a very lucky man ! RORY There are at least two current UP makers that have Holtzapffel lathes and having seen one of these in operation...

Re: Patrick Hennelly chanter
? You got me wondering with this somewhat cryptic post Mr Bayley so a few minutes on the calculator and now see why :o None of the sets measurements given make an inverse tapered staple and if they are correct it is a very shallow or at best cylindrical. Why does nobody take the initiative when pos...

Re: Coyne set for sale
Maybe if it came with the original chanter. A Matt Kiernan would be OK but it is not in the same league. Did MK take his reamers to it ?Maybe I need to start selling my body, or crack.

Re: practice sets and sound
Best advice would be to get along to a pipers gathering/tional to see and hear different makes of chanter. For a beginner on the instrument general advice is to pick If possible a maker within fairly easy reach

Re: Ebay Items
We might see a decline in Ebay sales or an increase in price to cover there new fee structure. They have wacked up their sellar fees (rate of 10% fvf) to a maximum now of £250.00. It was £75.00 maximum until a couple of days ago.... 3 1/3 x increase.... :o wish my wages would increase like this :)

Re: Bayley Barrel drones?
Whilst I play a normal set of Bayley pipes I have seen his and tried his barrel sets. They play well and are a really neat idea as they are easy to carry round. There was a set of these up for grabs on Ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Uilleann-Bagpipe-half-set-with-Barrel-Style-Drones-/261558719355?pt...

Re: Good enough for folk music but...
Taping the holes will make them flatter unless you make the whole chanter play sharp to get the B and E in tune and then tape all the other notes to flatten them

Re: Cracking Cane
if you don't want to use water, then cane is somewhat thermosetting. Sam is absolutely correct and this forum would be better served if certain people did not try to 'score points' or 'boost their number of posts score' by adding silly comments to the thread. I have seen several NSP makers and also...
