Yes, Ron Peeler usually does send a fingering chart.Sedi wrote:True. And sometimes there is some confusion between the different terms fife, piccolo or band flute. But shouldn't a maker normally include a fingering chart with his instrument?

Fife fingering is not the same as a flute.

Re: Who makes a good plastic High D flute/fife these days?
Musique Morneaux makes a nice wooden piccolo http://musiquemorneaux.com/contemporary-fifes/ (scroll down to the bottom). Jos. took over the shop after Ralph Sweet's passing. I don't know how the prices compare with the others that have been mentioned but the Morneaux instrument plays very nicely fo...

A sad story indeed.
I have heard of this when it comes to Highland Bagpipes. It changes the instrument.

FS - Healy Keyless D flute - $650 + Shipping
I am reluctantly looking to sell my Healy Keyless D flute.
It was made in 2000 and constructed of Blackwood and silver. This is a very well made instrument and has a robust sound.
The flute comes with a beautiful hard sided case.
Please contact me for details and photos.
Thanks

Re: Looking for a 6 hole D Fife/piccolo In canada
Hi Steve, I play key less simple system Piccolo. Jos Morneaux makes an awesome Irish Piccolo. I have one. I also wanted to get my hands on a Peter Worrell piccolo, I like the aesthetics and have heard and seen good things about this instrument. So, I had to have one and I'm not disappointed. It's a ...

Re: Looking for a 6 hole D Fife/piccolo In canada
Thanks, Hugh. The Piccolo arrived safely and I am enjoying the sound. I would almost describe it as a traverse blown penny whistle, but better. I play the fife and flute and the piccolo definitely plays with flute fingering and not Fife. But what can be played on the flute and fife can also be playe...

Solen Leosouef . An added advantage to her nicely done keywork is that the Eb key can be removed and used as a bottle cap opener. https://i.postimg.cc/wvwzQBr6/Cflute-detail-crop.png Best wishes. Steve A bottle cap opener can be a real important feature! I see it. Beautiful flute for sure.

Re: Wooden flute sounds better during the heatwave?
Interesting thought.
We're experiencing a bit of a heat wave now and I feel that my instruments like the warmer temperatures and humidity but not the direct sunlight.
Nice music link, I had a listen.

Re: Hall Crystal Flutes - Piccolo in "C"
I have come to the same conclusion, really difficult to get a proper sound. Very pretty to look at, though.
