FS - SWEETHEART Single Key Irish Flute SOLD
This is a Rosewood SWEETHEART flute with Faux Ivory Rings and a single Brass Eb key. It is NOT A BAROQUE flute. This is simply their Irish Flute with an additional key (Prattenesque). https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/bhlOUAh2unXuPZWH2cHxE5ARHrxRBptHWt9P8he_hn-baRamdmZWeCeIc_jmcXc5HCYTiKfvk8JOobIIro...

Hey EZman,
The fife plays in Bb (typical of most fifes).

Re: FS - Contemporary Antiques
What can I say, the title amused me!
The flute and fife are of relatively recent manufacture (< 25-years), but no longer produced.
In penance for the confusion, I'll knock $50 off the price of each!

Re: Mollenhauer Soprano Picco
Hey Cockade,
I've had three Mollenhauer flutes over the years and have been very impressed by their quality.
So I too ordered a Picco and was quite disappointed and sent it back in short order. But unfortunately I don't remember specifically why.

Re: What have I done!
Sounds like you still have a leak. :-? Check head-cork and I would vacuum check.... With each section; cover tone holes with fingers and use other hand to cup/seal the opposite end of section and gently suck on the tennon/socket to check for leaks. I then proceed to add sections (top to bottom) and ...

Re: What have I done!
Hey PB+J, Here is a similar flute that I often play, because it sounds so sweet: https://i.ibb.co/93jY9SG/P1120022.jpg I don't like nor use keys, except the Eb..... so I've filled all the extra holes with sealing wax (but Blu-Tack works great). The Eb key pad is made from an EVA Craft Foam Sheet and...

Re: What have I done!
Looks fairly nice!
But I seriously doubt it is French (doesn't have French key-work).
So it is a small holed flute (French flutes typically have even small holes - like a Baroque flute).
Have Fun!

Re: Eight-keyed flute little finger position?
Hey Jim,
Pinky goes on Eb key and Vent it Often!
Been awhile since I played an 8-key, but the foot-notes are awkward, I never became fluent with them.
But I can recommend "Moon River" as a good exercise for their use! Slow song that sounds good on an 8-key.
