Thinning out my private whistle collection due to some health problems I have had in the last six months which did not allow me to be in the workshop as much as I would normally be. I have a lovely Pat O’Riordan Low D whistle with black anodised two piece aluminium body and brass rings, delrin head,...

Re: WTT - Goldie low D
Hi, just to let you know. Mike McGoldrick plays a soft blowing Low D of mine. If you got the instrument from me directly and I said, that it plays like Mike's then what you have is a soft blowing whistle for what I make.
Cheers

Re: Goldie / Overton clogging problem (and solution)
Hi all and sorry for not chiming in earlier and help out but I have been working non-stop and had not much time to get on the computer. A lot has been said on how to clean out a whistle which is an important thing to know. When a whistle is new and goes out to someone then there should not be any cl...

Could be better... Had an operation on her back a few weeks ago but only laying or standing allowed yet, but that is slowly getting better. She unexpectedly had another operation this week for something they found while scanning the back and that we have to wait and see. In between both of those we ...

The Ollam - low whistle CD
Hello Everyone I just wanted to give the heads up on a great low whistle album "The Ollam" which I got a little over a month ago. There are few albums out there that I would consider being truly Low Whistle albums, meaning the main lead instrument on every track ** is a low whistle and in ...

CP: May be slow in answering emails for a bit.
Some may have wondered why we have been not good in answering emails recently. Well apart from the crap internet connection we have here that puts me off going online, Brigitte was in hospital for a week and had an operation. She is at home now but will take weeks/months before she is back to normal...

Dear Whistle-Friends, working independently I was able to cover some of the increased material, energy and insurance costs over the last years with additional working hours but there is only so much time in a day you can work. After keeping the prices stable since January 2007, as of first of Februa...

CP - Moving house and workshop
Hello and Happy New Year to Everyone... I have not been around here a lot but it has been a tough year and a half for us resulting in us buying a new house and at the moment renovating rooms to make into my new workshop. I decided to try and do some kind of diary showing what is going on and the pro...

Re: How do Chieftain, Overton and MK compare? (clogging/tone)
Mark good to see you like your new whistle. I thought it is time to write a little bit as this comes up every now and then and I tend to shake my head. I want to explain a few things about the whistles I make. Yes, I do make whistles that need a bit more warming up than normal and have a good amount...

Normally I don't chime in on these threads but thought I should in this case. I understand they are friends again. I must have been asleep when that took place. Just goes to show, do not believe everything you see or read online even if the person sounds like they know what they are talking about. B...

Re: Help me choose a highend whistle
I'm just curious, Colin ... Can you revoice your whistles to a different backpressure, or is that problematic? I'm thinking of people who acquire a Goldie as a second owner, and who happen to get one that doesn't quite suit their ideal backpressure, but who love it otherwise. I've also thought it c...
