Can't go wrong with it. I haven't met a penny chanter I didn't like. You may wish to troll ebay for used, too.

New website

Hi, just wanted to let folks know I have moved my website to Wild Goose Studios. Music, reed making, pipe making stuff is no longer handled at the Wordpress site for Wild Goose Reeds. Thank you, and stay healthy out there!

Re: Which reedmaking book you recommend?

Sort of off-topic, but I would also recommend considering Benedict's video series on the NPU site. He helps you connect with your inner reed-whisperer.

Re: Shipping pipes in colder weather.

I have shipped many reeds to customers during colder weather, and they have survived just fine. I can't imagine there will be that big of a problem.

Re: "Little jake" bassoon pickup on pipes?

This discussion by Evertjan 't Hart covers a variety of mics, and gives a good description of the sound with the pickup on the reed:

Re: Insights on the quick bounce when playing notes

It takes a bit of practice, but I usually think of it as bouncing my finger. Keep your fingers relaxed.
