Re: Reconciliation Reel

Okay, that makes sense.

Then folding, as Ben described.

Re: Reconciliation Reel

If you can play it in A, just transpose it yourself, but you'll have to get creative with the folding. I don't understand what you mean when you say "a fiddle playing the standard arrangement." Does that mean the fiddler will be playing it in A? I don't see how you can play it in one key a...

Re: Long pipes case

I found a rifle case in the local fishing/hunting shop and the set fits, although the padding needs modification. It only set me back £60 but I felt a bit awkward and self-conscious buying a gun case -- "Er...it's for a musical instrument..." I'll have to cover it with bumper stickers. It'...

Re: Long pipes case

I don't plan on backing the car over it, or carrying it very far for that matter (it's in Bb flat -- where are you going to play it other than the rare solo gig?). But I think taking the reed in and out of the bass reg is one of those things likely to go wrong some day, so something long enough to n...

Long pipes case

Looking for a pipes case that's long enough to hold a Bb set without dismantling the bass reg (with the sticky out bar, not the curly one). I would really rather not be arsed with the faff of taking everything apart all the time. I haven't measured the set but probably around 4ft or so. Any ideas?

FS: C#/D red Paolo Soprani accordion

I put this in the for sale section as well, but to be honest, I never look at that, even when I'm looking for things. It's a 1950s or 60s box, but rereeded with Italian reeds and refurbished in 2013 by Lars Hansen in Copenhagen. It's in perfect condition and plays beautifully. PM for photos and a vi...

Re: FS: C#/D red Paolo Soprani accordion

Updating with more information, after opening the box last night with a friend who knows what he's doing. It was refurbished and rereeded by Lars Hansen in Copenhagen in 2013 and changed from G/C to C#/D. The voices are LMM. The middle reeds are Cicarelli TAM. The low reeds are Binci. The chords are...

FS: C#/D red Paolo Soprani accordion

I inherited this accordion, believed to be from the 1960s, a couple years ago, and I've concluded that I'm unlikely to learn how to play it. It's a beautiful instrument in immaculate condition that should have an owner who plays it. It was rereeded and retuned by Theo Gibb three or four years ago. I...

Northeast *Scotland* tionol in Edzell

Yeah, I wish I could make the one in East Durham, NY, but nevermind. Anyone ever been to this? Some tuition on the regs would not be amiss, but I also want the craic -- late night tunes and crawling into classes hungover sort of nonsense. Are there sessions at this thing as well, like at the US equi...

Re: Why is the D on my tenor reg squeaking?

Sorry, I meant baritone. It was late. The middle one.

Already tried opening the reed. Didn't do anything.

Why is the D on my tenor reg squeaking?

As above. The rest of the notes are ok-ish. But the reed squeaks when you try to crow it as well. Any ideas, or will I have suck it up and look like a moron to my pipemaker?

Re: Uilleann pipes case question

FYI, you can fit a full set of concert pitch pipes in the fly fishing case.
