Does the third tune of this set have another name? I just can't think of it. For some reason I keep hearing a recording of Paddy Keenan playing it. But I have been wrong before...

Geoff--- if I understand your post correctly, the width of the cane at the staple is little more than 5mm and tapers up to the regular width of the head of the reed. Are these the usual length? Have you ever tried one of these in a modern chanter?

I have read as much as I can about flat back D causes and remedies, so this question is specific to the staple and the back D. Will a staple that is too large cause the back D to be flat?
