Re: Reported activity in violation of the Board’s standards

A toast in praise of our wise moderators...

"May those who love us, love us;
And for those who don't love us,
May God turn their hearts;
And if He doesn't turn their hearts,
May He turn their ankles,
So we will know them by their limping!"

Re: Tunes for church

I, too, enjoy "In Christ Alone." Another two that sound like they have an Irish persuasion are: "Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUhU0HgTq94 or http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/c/o/comethou.htm and "Of the Father's Love Begotten" http://...

Re: recommended tunes for successively faster triplet of tunes?

I am resurfacing to check my post, having the (mistaken) impression that I would find apathy on the topic similar to the identical post first submitted on the Whistle board. To my delight, I have found a rich conversation, and am grateful for the input so far. Special thanks to MTGuru, Nanohedron cw...

recommended tunes for successively faster triplet of tunes?

I have enjoyed hearing tin whistlers play two or three tunes in a row, usually starting with a slow paced tune, then a moderately paced tune, finishing off with a fast tune. Is there a term to describe such a performance of tunes? Would members be willing to share their recommendations of tune title...

If I were to be sent such a gift I would never mention it on the boards for fear leaving the person vulnerable to the very cynical comments I refer to above. I liked Williams story... it has drama, despair, hope and redemption. I'll give credit to those on this board to be able to tell the differen...

The failure of expression by the artist or the audience breedsa reversion to a latent, pre-expressive world analogous to the Chaos before Divinity summoned Logos. I wish I could speak or understand the language of the Eastern Australians so that I could tell what the hell this person just said. :bo...

I ordered the Tribal Earth Low D some time back, and have been very pleased with it, both in ease of play and construction. I consider it my guilty pleasure :oops: , as it is less demanding to play than my other Low D for which I spent ten times the price :)

The best known example is probably "Auntie Mary" (aka "Cock of the North"): "Auntie Mary had a canary up the leg of her drawers..." I don't know whether to blush :oops: or giggle :lol: . " Auntie Mary, is that a canary in your drawers, or are you just happy to see...

Re: For Sale: Overton Low D, Cillian OBriain Low D

Cillian O'Briain (tunable) Low D (ca 2003) $150 Folks, that is a great price. I bought what I claim as the last tunable O'Briain Low D for USD $240 in July 2004 [I visited Cillian's workshop in Dingle, he went rummaging around boxes stored on the highest shelf to come up with this one remaining whi...

Our family both letterboxes and geocaches. I just hid my third letterbox in a library, to create some fun hunting among the stacks. The geocaching is more fun for my daughter, as she likes swapping out the little trinkets, as is the custom. I am plotting out and gathering parts for two geocaches out...
