Re: Hammy Hamilton 8 key for sale

Matt, I got Hammy to make the head joint extra long, for resting ON the shoulder. You will see the great and the good, when playing, putting the flute INTO the shoulder, maybe when tired. I have understood well, from my clarinet days, the importance of good air flow, and while I don't play flute in ...

Re: Hammy Hamilton 8 key for sale

Kevin, the position of the Bb key, would be a throwback to my days as a closet clarinetist.

Or maybe you are thinking of the cute little cutaway to allow for the C bar ?

Re: Hammy Flute for sale.

As Ben said, it's strong. The extension is for my benefit as I never learned to play/hold the instrment "properly" You'll see the great and the good leaning the flute into the shoulder, I assume when, 2 hours into the session, the arms/head get tired. I believe, from my younger days, on cl...

I'm known as The Honker Troy. I did have an innovative extra put onto this flute, an extension at the...

Re: Ned Coleman

Very sorry to hear that he'd died. He always had a great rec for me, when I'd get to the session, once a month. I have the cd of his, with the band, which he gave me a couple of years ago, great stuff, his flute being the strongest on the recording. Good on ya, Ned, Míle Buíochas, R.I.P. Ar dheis Dé...

Re: Tune ID

Kenny, message from Orlaith for you. That tune is a reel composed by Niamh Ní Charra called "The Devil's Ladder". She's from Killarney Co. Kerry (where my family are from!) and she recorded the tune on her album. Hello to Kenny from me. Last tune, second track. http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/nia...
