Haha, been there. Try later--don't let it frustrate you. Good luck!

I had forgotten that a month ago I couldn't find the air for two notes. It was one of the things that frustrated me about playing. I'm going to celebrate now that I've noticed my accomplishment. :P

I don't think that learning the dots will do your playing any harm at all. Once you learn them, you can simply choose not to use them if you want to. I need to use both dots and ear to play. I can manage learning a song by ear if I have to but I prefer to have the actual notes handy so I don't have ...

I also forgot to mention that this flute is almost indestructable, requires no maintenance, is in excellent playing condition, has a few invisible dings here and there that have only scratched the decorative coating on the pvc. Also, I'd like to add that I am terrible at taking pictures. http://i10....

FS - Tipple Flute

I have purchased a new flute and, as much as I enjoy my Tipple, I don't think I'll be using it quite as much anymore. This flute is perfect for someone who wants to try a flute without investing too much money to begin with. Doug no longer makes the model I am selling here. It is a beautiful one-pie...

Thanks for the advice, it is always welcome. The only way I can try out a flute at the moment is by ordering one, but I think I'm still quite a ways off from doing that. I have a Tipple flute right now and I think that'll hold me until I better understand what I'm looking for. I'm leaning towards th...

Wooden Flute Obsession--little help--Resolved

I just got WFO 1 & 2 in the mail today! I've had the chance to listen to disk one so far. I'm trying to figure out what type of flute I'd like to purchase based on the sounds I like but I'm not sure which flutes are being used for which tracks. If anyone knows, could you please tell me what flut...

Another vote for lose the note. I usually make friends first. It takes the pressure off and then I also have a better idea if I even want to move forward as well as how receptive she would be if I asked. I'm also for the coffee idea. It's more of a friendly activity than romantic--it's good to start...

Usually, a polite but firm letter will scare these people off but it seems they're not listening. I don't have any useful advice for you but I can imagine how you must feel. I hope you are able to resolve this problem.

I tap with my right heel but only when playing alone. I would imagine it might be annoying to others.

That's horrible! But like the others have mentioned, there's a big world of music out there that doesn't require air. Don't give up.

Like you mentioned, there are two problems that I can see with going from high to low. The first is that low whistles can take more air than you're used to. Also, they are much harder to handle. You'll have to learn piper's grip in order to feel comfortable. After you become accustomed to these new ...
