Salt Lake Piping Club prior URL: uilleann.org is available

Hey all, Been ages since I've posted, and even longer since we finished a complete revamp of the Salt Lake Piping Club's website. With the emergence FB/Insta and YouTube, the need for our dedicated website diminished over the years (though the costs to maintain it increased). To that end, it was tim...

**SOLD** Sindt D+C whistle pair

Hey guys - it's been a minute since I was a regular on the boards here, so hello again to friends old and new. I'm not playing music anymore, and don't like to keep instruments that won't see use. So I'm looking to re-home my Sindt D and C whistles. Brass and delrin as is his method. Both whistles o...

Re: Patrick Murray : Reed dimentions or maker needed

Happy to have found this old info once again. Trying to recreate a reed with Pat's general layout from 15 or so years back. Thank goodness for archives like C&F!

Re: Salt Lake Piping Club - Refresh is now live

Quick request - I've attempted to be as reasonably complete in my listing of current clubs and makers, as well as verifying all links are correct and working. If anyone notes broken links, or missing info (clubs worldwide in particular) if you could let me know either here or via PM. Thanks in advan...

Salt Lake Piping Club - Refresh is now live

As mentioned a few days back, I've been working on a site-wide refresh of the SLPC site for a while now. Finally got the first bits live and posted up this afternoon. Much of the original content is still there, and over the next few months I hope to add a little more here and there. The Club's stor...

Re: F nat against an equal temp tuner?

And THAT is why I asked! :D Brilliant answer - thanks very much! I was referencing a D scale in this case with the D = 0 , so I believe your +16 solution is what I was after. (I think anyway)

Sincerely appreciate the explanation here. Cheers!!

F nat against an equal temp tuner?

Hello all - As I'm updating some of the info on the clubs pages, I have found a number of small things I'm working to correct. Apparently several years of ignoring your site and letting it stagnate doesn't help keep it up to date and all...who knew?! :D At any rate, I am wondering if anyone knows of...

Re: Uilleann pipe stickers

i'd suggest something along the lines of those ovoid 'national' bumper stickers ("IE", "GB", "US" , "FR", "DE", "NL: , etc..) but ours would simply say "UP". Great idea, but, apparently, the Salt Lake City Pipers' Club already thought...

Re: Reed makers...Am I paying attention to the right Reed stuff?

Remember that measurements are the pipers code...more guidelines than hard fast rules. The cane itself will dictate what final shapes and dimensions will afford the best tuning and tone. You mentioned polishing the interior of your slips - this can certainly help keep the tone bright, particularly w...

Re: Martin Preshaw concert reed dimensions

Hello Martin, Good hearing from you here. The initial messages I sent would have been several years back now - no worries. Would you mind posting your reed dimensions and construction preferences you use here on the forum? I'm sure they would be helpful to many more than just myself. Cheers, and tha...

Re: CP: A Guide to Reed Making for the Uilleann Pipes

Any chance of an e version in pdf or something? Far easier access for those across the pond, and I would have to think cheaper to distribute as well...meaning more bucks for NPU.

Maybe?

Re: Martin Preshaw concert reed dimensions

Was looking for a quicker reply than emailing Martin. I tried that a while back and it was weeks and weeks before I heard back. At any rate, figured it would be as simple as another fellow piper taking a quick look and reporting some basics of his reed. Thanks!
