Old prices for O'Riordan whistles?

Hi Guys, Does anyone have a feel for what a new regular, tune-able, aluminum D whistle went for about 10 years ago? How about an aluminum Low D of about the same vintage? You might recall that I sold my high end whistles last year and now the accountant has ickky questions. Happy tax time :) Dean......

Instrument conservators

Hi, Just a recap and general response to all who have sent private messages. I was contacted as a result of knowing someone who knows someone who either is or knows a collections curator. This collection has received an old set of pipes and, since they know nothing about them, are looking for inform...

Pipe conservators?

Hi, I have just been made aware that a music related organization has obtained a set of pipes. The org has a member who is a piper and knows that the instrument is actually a set of Uilleann pipes. I have never seen the set and likely never will unless I am sent photos. The org and the associated pi...

Whistle sale update

Hi, Since replies are not allowed in the For-Sale section and I could not figure out how to edit the existing post I'll offer this update here. The Burke composite low G & F and the Hardy low D are now on the Irish Flute Store's pages. The original post is at http://forums.chiffandfipple.com/vie...

FS: Copelands and O'Riordans and others

Hi, Due to some needed home repairs I am thinning the whistle herd. Doc Jones at the Irish Flute Store is handling the sales for me. We are doing this in two ways. Four of the whistles are in an eBay auction and three are fixed price on his site. The eBay items are up and the auction is live. I do n...

Re: finding current whistle prices?

How have I never seen the used instrument section of the C&F before? Thanks guys for the links. As for interesting... well, I am NOT opening up sales just yet but there will probably be a Copeland low D & low G; O'Riordan low D and regular D; a non-tuneable aluminum low D; a few Burke whistl...

finding current whistle prices?

Hi,

I am playing with the idea of thinning my whistle herd to help fund needed home repairs. How does one find out recent sale prices? Ebay does not have much sales history available.

Is Ebay the best sales medium?

Cheers,
Dean...K...

Re: Colorado-area pipers?

Look up Eric Olsen down in Colorado Springs... barring that find any of the other pipers on the front range and they will prolly point you at Eric. He most likely got the rest of them going.

MuseScore and tin whistle tab

Hi, I found a music notation tool called MuseScore . It is open source and has a plugin interface. I saw that there was a recorder tablature plugin and wondered about tin whistle/6-hole simple-system fingerings. Turns out that there is a tin whistle fingering chart font that was created by Blayne Ch...

Looking for a graphic designer with piping sensibilities

Hi, I am looking for a graphic designer with piping sensibilities. I have not hired a graphic designer before so I am not exactly sure what I am in for or what costs might be but I need a logo. I have promoted concerts in my community for over 5 years [not *my* music but the likes of Tommy Peoples, ...

Re: Easiest playing LowD?

Any answer to your question will be subjective. I own, or have owned, low-Ds made by: Copeland, O'Riordan, Burke, and a few who's maker is unknown or questionable. These have included metal and plastic whistles, tunable and non-tunable. My favorite low-D is a brass Copeland that I bought second-hand...
