Re: Andes Whistle vs Tin Whistle
Dear Yankees1, As of Andes music thing, I believe you're talking about a quena (flute) or a quenacho (flute). And I guess your brass whistle is in the key of D (soprano) ! So there's as a standard let's say: soprano (the one your wife hate), Alto (little deeper), Tenor (the one you like I guess), Ba...

Re: Burke C Natural Intonation
Dear Matthewlawson3, This is from Mr. Mike Burke : I make no claims regarding cross fingerings to get a flattened 7th. Much better to half hole or get my thumbhole option. Fork fingerings are unnatural on whistles because it is important to the richness of the tone that the toneholes below the activ...

Re: Quietest Low D Whistle...
Yep most of the ones I've seen are the black ones... And as I said from Ms. Tamsin videos, it's a very quiet whistle  I guess I'll go for the gold plated (as gold plated brasswind instruments always sounded so sweet and fairly quiet-and it might be the same with whistles) I'll buy a Howard...

Re: Quietest Low D Whistle...
Dear Sedi, Yes I'm leaning to the Howard now! I guess I'll ignore all what I heard about how nasaly and dull it is as per what I've read! Cause I've seen Ms. Tamsin videos and that's a quiet whistle :) And that's one odd whistle you've got! :D Warbl is a must-have absolutely! Thanks a lot, ne...

Re: Quietest Low D Whistle...
Dear fatmac, Honestly everytime I wanna buy a Howard! Someone will say it sounds like a recorder with a nasaly tone!! And i heard that after Mr. David took over, He changed the fipple design which it sounds different than before... Is that true? And I believe the gold plated Howard will sound the qu...
