Dark & Carved Erik the Flutemaker - Bflat & C Bamboo Flutes
Flutes were purchased in a lot of instruments. Show no wear. I have not played them other than to test the pitch (not a flute player, but a whistle player). Emailed pictures of them to Eric and he identified the whistles. I can provide the email from Eric. 1. 1 Bflat & 1 C flute 2. Concert pitch...

Thin Weasel / Water Weasel
Recently purchased a collection of used instruments and found a High D Thin Weasel / Water Weasel in the lot. It's the PVC version. I love the way the whistle plays, but I'm full up with High D whistles. Was thinking about selling it, but have no idea what it's worth. Any ideas of its value?

Help with ID of Used Flute
So, I purchased a collection of instruments that included several flutes. I cannot ID the one pictured in the link below. I've been told it is either an older Stantin or perhaps one of the early Sweethearts. Any help would be appreciated. https://cyleshobbies.blogspot.com/2020/06/trying-to-id-irish-...

Re: Help With First Low D
It's a pain to have to decide without actually picking up these whistles, but the feedback helps. I would love a Kelpie or MK Pro, but can't find a used Kelpie and even used Pro's are a bit out of my price range. Phil Hardy recommends the new V5, but several have said the holes may pose a problem fo...

Help With First Low D
I'd like your help. Been playing various High D's for about 9 months, none expensive. Favorite is a Chris Wall. I'm not a beginner, but I wouldn't classify myself as an intermediate yet. I love the Low D sound. I have a play a Becker A, which is breathy. I want a Low D, I love the slow airs and more...

Re: Less Chiffy, Solid Second Octave
You mention "solid" and "sweet". I usually hear "solid" as meaning "loud" which can be seen as the opposite of "sweet" so I don't know if you'll find these two coexisting in the 2nd octave of a whistle. The most "solid" 2nd octave that com...

Less Chiffy, Solid Second Octave
I have two inexpensive D whistles (Clarke Celtic & Walton D). Looking at the Dixon Trad, TJ Potter, or the Freeman Blackbird. Looking for a sweet second octave and perhaps a bit less breathy than the Clarke. And, I just want another whistle or two.

Looking For More Whistles
I started a while ago with a Clarke Celtic C. Wanted to hear a Walton D, so I bought one. I enjoy the different voices. Looking at the Timothy J Potter, the Freeman Blackbird, and the Dixon Trad D. I like slow airs, since my fingers seemed to get tangled up when I play quickly. Any recommendations?
