FS: Overton Low D fixed SOLD

Hi all, I have a gorgeous low D fixed whistle stamped Overton. It's a medium blower, perfectly in tune and with an amazing rich and edgy tone. I'm just not playing it very often and am funding other whistles so sadly need to let this one go. I'm asking $275 shipped. Pictures here: https://www.dropbo...

FS: MK Pro low F SOLD

Excellent condition low F MK Pro in black for sale. Rich edgy tone, perfect tuning, and stunning looks. I have a little teflon tape on the joint but it's not really doing anything--I used it out of habit. I don't play it enough so am looking to sell. $275 plus shipping. Located in the U.S. -Peter

Re: Developing your playing style

Gary, certain lots to digest here and some great advice. One small thing is to think about the whistle as much as a rhythmic instrument as a melodic one. Some ornamentation is to make it easy to keep an eighth- or sixteenth-note rhythm going so your fingers will naturally cut and tap as needed (with...

Re: Want To Buy Low (Alto, Mezzo) G; recommendations?

I will second the Colin Goldie nomination. For a long time my Goldie A was my favorite, then I got a new Bb from him, along with a C. The Bb is one of the finest instruments I've ever played, period. The octave balance, air requirements, tone, and general ease of playing make it an absolute natural....

FS: Chieftain Thunderbird whistles in Bb and C SOLD

Two fantastic Chieftain Thunderbird whistles in Bb and C. Tunable and in very good condition. The C is brighter and can take a good amount of air and perform. The Bb has one of the best haunting sounds I've heard from a whistle and is a touch quieter. Both are professional grade and will perform in ...

Re: New Here - Alto A Whistle Questions

Hi, I've gone through several mezzo A whistles to find my favorite. The Susato A was very clean and clinical but loud and used more air. The MK is fantastic, uses a fair amount of air and has a nice husky tone with a great second octave. My Goldie A is brilliant, though this is a very old model that...
