Re: Glenn Schultz Whistle in A

Sale in progress. I'll re-post if that doesn't work out (but I think it will).

Glenn Schultz Whistle in A - PRESUMED SOLD

I have a beautiful wooden whistle in A, made by Glenn A. Schultz Sr. in Oxford, MI under his brand, Thin Weasel Woodwinds, for sale. I have two of them and so one of them never gets played. It should be! This whistle plays beautifully, with even and rich tone. If you haven't dealt with wooden whistl...

Low C Whistle options?

Does anybody have knowledge of/opinions on options for low C whistles? I have seen the Howard, Nightingale, Karavaev, Chris Wall, Kakapo, etc.

Re: Fingering for G# on a D whistle

Indeed, a very illuminating volley of bits on the subject! I am not opposed to doing the heavy lifting of learning half-holing for this note: I use the technique for a number of tunes, but it's pretty challenging when the note happens in certain quick runs. I just wanted to see if it would stir up a...

Fingering for G# on a D whistle

Hi all,
I had hoped to search on this and find existing threads to read, but I couldn't. So, any advice on playing G# on a D whistle, other than half-holing? I find it very difficult to get it to sound clean on anything but the slowest passages.

Thanks!

Re: Reported activity in violation of the Board’s standards

Just to weigh in on my own experiences with "Chris Holbrook": when I was selling a few Glenn Schultz whistles over a year ago, he tried to talk me way down on the price. At first I responded, looking for reasons for his request (like hardship or something) and he was just plain annoying. E...

Re: Thin Weasel whistles for sale

At this point, all of the whistles have found their new homes. Paul Busman was right: this is the place for serious whistle players. Thanks!

Tips on playing wooden whistles

I've been playing whistle for quite awhile, but I'm new to playing wooden ones (I suddenly acquired several in the fall). They all play great, but they have a tendency to get clogged with condensation at a certain point. I can blow it out and they're back to playing great, and they don't generally c...
