Re: Peg McGrath video on "Youtube"

Great playing. Is her 'Cherish the Ladies' album still available anywhere? I've heard a couple of the tracks and would love to hear the whole thing.

Thanks,

Roger Sherlock's playing is class. Hope they do a nice piece in his memory at the Fleadh this summer in Sligo.

I think the book Sean refers to in the video is the liner notes of the recent CD release, which is now out-- http://www.johnmckenna.ie/Release1

It's a great resource - both the CD and liner notes.

Re: Bryan Byrne Rudally Flute

Bryan makes really excellent flutes - great tone, intonation, and response. Personally, I find my Byrne easier to play than my Grinter, but both require a very focused embouchure. Re: Flute practice habits

Aaron, You pose a really good question, so just wanted to make sure you got a response, although certainly plenty of advice in that previous thread. This is my own take on things and everyone is different, but I think this mirrors the path for a lot of other people who play traditional Irish music. ...

Here is a version with a little higher video quality -

The set starts about 30 seconds in. Tansey's expression at the end of the set is classic.
