Tommy did stage work with them too. I'm not sure that extended beyond London gigs but ask him about that. It's a different world from traditional Irish music venues/pubs!

There are other angles buried in Gay's comments. One is the 'death' of the solo player. It is rare when one hears a solo performer, especially on stage. Within a touring group, there is little opportunity for solo contributions so the group sound dominates and you'll only hear the one solo party pie...

There's usually one lumber store in an area that carries the rare hardwoods in plywood. A Home Depot will have oak ply with one maple. The exotic lumber store might have a good dozen plywoods in stock.

The print of the George McCarthy comes out of a book of Lawrence images that were tranferred to postcard. I have the book - it is about 24 or 30 or 32 pages - one image per page on a slick paper. The price is right for someone to snag it for framing.
