I've always loved traditional music, but only really got into it when I started taking whistle lessons about a year ago. I'm enjoying it greatly, and was hoping for suggestions for other books. What are your favorites?

My mistake... Since the other was posted on the low Whistle page, I had assumed it was a low D. I never did get approved for membership so I hadn't seen the for sale post. O'Riordans are so rarely for sale, I thought someone was trying to "flip" it and turn a hefty profit.

Glad to hear it! I'm all for catching a good deal and reselling for a profit, but there's a point where it just seems more like gouging. Although I can't say I might not be willing to pay an exorbitant price for a rare whistle, if the timing were right...

On a side note... The guy who bought it seems to be reselling it on eBay. For $800.

I have, and I'm very well aware that a good portion of it is me and my lack of practice with it! I have a really hard time sealing the lower two holes, as there doesn't seem to be enough "padding" on my fingers to seal them without gripping the whistle more tightly than it seems I should. ...

Thanks! I'm not sure I'll even be able to play a low whistle well. I have large hands for a woman, but I just couldn't find a way to hold it that didn't stretch my fingers into a cramp. Its too nice of a whistle not to be played though, so I'm hoping someone else can give it the attention it deserves.
