Re: Bass bar to stock

Ok thank you for all the advice I am totally underwhelmed. My options then are, trial an error I will start with a 3mm hole working up in millimeters until I have an optimum air flow I can always plug a hole if it is too big and I will smear vaseline on the leather to assist in an airtight gasket. I...

Re: Tying in a new bag

Yeah I also wondered if there was a formula I would think girth would be a variable.Anyway there are a couple of good tips and measurements on "you tube" that I used. One thing that worked for me is to cut the 2 holes pick a method, there are a few, but tie in the drone stock first as you ...

I'm sorry I ever sold that Crowley set.
Buy it back it's a bargain. They might throw in some steak knives and a pair of socks

Re: My set

I am seriously impressed The amount of thought and work that has gone into the new pipes..... (Sooo understated). I have just finished a set of pipes and have learned enough to make an improved model.I am constantly surprised by the combinations of chanters, reg, and drones not to mention reeds of a...

Bass bar to stock

Ok I am fixing and fitting my regulators. So far the problem I am having is with the air flow from the hole in the reg baritone chamber from the stock too and through the brass bass tube. What is the ideal hole size? and do I allow a decent amount around the leather gaskets at the airway so I can al...

Re: Practice set to 1/2 set

If you advertised as a half set they may have a point.Having said that I have 2 sets and both stocks are different in size so
to me the stock and drones should match and I would expect drones with a half set as opposed to a practice set with no stock cup

Re: Flat/Concert

All can be done with reeds, the bores matter for very little ! I have made a number of chanters: One was a complete stuff up because I tried to step drill 4.0mm...70mm back from the reed end and made a mess I experimented by reaming and reeding the chanter. The result was not what I expecte...

Re: Michael Dow bellows

I decided to go with smaller (Kelleher) bellows because I found it easier to play regulators that way.
Hi I wonder if you could explain your relationship between regulators an bellows. I am still about a year away before I
connect up regulators and every bit helps

crowley/kennedy

Looking at this ebay item and then further looking at the other items for sale I am confused with the selling technique. There are 2 sets of pipes 2 early martin guitars 2 early gibson 2 wheatstones and lots of other goodies. They have low bidding and all seem to have a $2.500 buy now . Maybe someon...

Re: Reed Adjustment

Hi Mike I have made many reeds so I will pass on what I would do in your case: First the weak back D is a real worry and may be a chanter issue. Check for leaks on the side of the reeds or just rub some wax crayon on the sides to be sure. That said I always tune a reed starting with the back D so I ...

Hi James
From where will you be selling. Because of measuring in mm and inches. I am hoping it is Australia
As for pricing what did each billet cost?
