Oiling old recorders

I've purchased a few vintage recorders recently, and I'm following the practice of playing them in a little at a time over the first few weeks. Should I be using bore oil or something else as well during this time?

wooohooo! Lunasa!

By a lucky turn of the radio knob, My Dad stumbled on some live irish music on the local station, and lo and behold...it's Lunasa and they are playing in Seattle tomorrow night! I am so jazzed that I didn't miss them. I had no idea they were in town! Had to come blather on about it here because my h...

display?

My little assortment of flutes and whistles have been knocking around on my bookshelf for far too long. Do we know of anyone who makes some sort of stand or rack for putting them better on display?

Re: New Year Resolutions, What's Yours?

I am shooting at a few things this year. I tend to go in fits and starts on various instruments. So my goal is to pick up a whostile or flute for 15 minutes a day..

I have a few pounces to chase away as well :)

I got it a month ago, but I've been stuck on my Reyburn A since then... what little time I've had to play lately. :/

Re: Haircolor is my enemy.

There is no grey. There is only silver or, (as I like to say,) arctic blonde. Much simpler to go for the Emmylou Harris, or fair-haired Osphena model look. Arctic blonde? Hmm I may have to save that for down the road... when I do give in and just let it go. I've been going grey since having my kids...

Re: Haircolor is my enemy.

came out with copper and faded pistachio green .... Getting it fixed in the morning... No, you should keep it! Reddish with greenish tints sounds rather Irish. :D Not sure about that, but if it can be kept for a few more months it will at least be seasonally appropriate. I could deck the hall...

Haircolor is my enemy.

I went into the salon for brown to cover my greys and my faded out blonde ombre from the summer, and came out with copper and faded pistachio green. This color math does not compute.  :swear: Getting it fixed in the morning... Last time I went in for light brown and came out with canar...
