Thanks to everyone for the pics and input. Like others, I find the Feadog whistle mouthpiece history very interesting.
Now someone with a 3D printer has to figure out how to replicate them the I and II

Re: Feadog questions mk II.5
This is what I noticed in the difference between the two MK I's that I have.
Left is Feadog Teo, right is Pigott.
The windway is clearly bigger on the Feadog Teo.

Re: Inexpensive conical whistles
On the note of shaw whistles, has anyone here used them and whats your opinion? I was looking them up a while back because they are affordable, and just look cool. But from my research I read that the tuning/intonation and air req might be questionable. So I'm curious for more (and more reliable) i...

https://i.postimg.cc/K8c5tQ6y/Feadogs-DSC-6031-small.jpg I say it with the caveat it's based on a sample of one: Definitely not their best effort. But things can vary, I have, for example, at least one Mk I (if you want to call it that) that I'd happily part with and I wouldn't have a very high opi...

Re: Inexpensive whistle guide thread?
Maybe if i get the gumption up, i’ll copy the old info and make a new file. I think it would be very helpful for people who like to purchase vintage whistles.

Inexpensive whistle guide thread?
I've seen several references to the "inexpensive whistle guide" I can't seem to find it. Does the thread exist anymore? It was referenced in some pretty old posts, so maybe it's gone?
Thanks, Lisa

Feadog questions mk II.5
Hi, i’ve seen the pics of the Mk ii.5, which has a hump. I wasn’t able to find a review about one being played. We all know about version mk I being preferred. I have the other models I, II and III and wonder if it’s worth tracking one down to round out my collection. I do like to play my whistles, ...

Wanted: Eagle two piece whistle - cash or trade
I’m looking for a vintage Eagle two piece whistle. I have the newer Clare version, but misplaced my beloved vintage Eagle and would love to replace it. I’m willing to pay money or trade a whistle or two that I have. I can sew and could make up some individual cases or a whistle roll for you in trade...

Re: Inexpensive conical whistles
Thank you for the responses, I appreciate it. I was able to get home for a brief time today and was able to retrieve most of my whistles. I am sheltering in place at my 85 year old mother-in-law's home taking care of both her and my own 91 year old mother. It's been kind of tough. I had to quit my j...

Re: The most "chiff" sounding whistle???
I’m a huge Billie fan. I usually play one album each day by her, or just shuffle her songs for about an hour after supper is done and cleaned up. Music for Torching is my fav.
Billie Holiday in her last years had a bit of chiff to her voice from all the hard living.

Re: The most "chiff" sounding whistle???
I have a Clare whistle that I think has a lot of character to her voice. I call her Janis, as in Janis Joplin. I put some putty in the cavity of the mouthpiece, because i felt it made it a little less wobbly on the bell note. Other than that, I liked it plain with no tweaks. Chiff is subjective to s...

Inexpensive conical whistles
Hi, just wondering what are the choices for conical bore whistles under 50 dollar American. Clarke and Shaw is what I am aware of. Also Colonial Williamsburg which I’ve read are terrible if memory serves me right, but correct me if I’m wrong. I see vintage Japanese ones once in a while and Calura (s...

Oak whistles new vs old?
Hi, I haven’t been here for a while, but with staying at home, I’m picking up the whistles again. I hope everyone is well and healthy. My questions are: Is there a difference between older Oak whistles vs new models (Acorn models also... you know, just in case I have to get an Acorn, too) I’ve read ...
