More questions on Embouchure hole designs
A couple of weeks ago I posted some questions about the various shapes of embouchure holes. Thanks to everyone who replied with well thought out and helpful information as well as some good links. I read Terry McGee's explanation of the history and development of various embouchure designs. That was...

Embouchure cuts
I have been reading a lot about different shaped embouchures, and I'm having some trouble with the vocabulary. Some makers refer to their embouchures as "oval", others as "ellipse". Terry McGee uses the term "Modern Cut". Dave Copley's website shows an example of a &quo...

Does anyone know if Gary Somers is making flutes again?
I have been looking for a small to medium bore, small to medium hole Delrin flute for some time.
From what I've read, Gary was making a very fine flute.
I hope everything is OK with him.

Re: Somers Flute?
Thanks, everyone, for the interesting and informative replies. Based on what has been posted, and with Garry Somers not making flutes at this time, I think the Copley is the best choice for me.

Re: Somers Flute?
Thanks for all the responses so far. Some people, on this forum and others, have recommended Copley. Can anyone comment on the air requirements of a Copley flute?

Somers Flute?
I have been looking for some time for a Delrin flute. I have a checklist, which includes medium to small holes, medium to narrow bore, Rudall style, under $500. This will become my camping/travelling flute. It seems to me that Gary Somers' flutes tick all the boxes. Does anyone know whether Gary is ...

Re: Looking for yet another....
Thanks for the replies. I will be in touch with the makers you suggest.
A question about Milligan whistles. I know this is a subjective issues, but how loud is the Milligan whistle with the quiet mouthpiece?

Looking for yet another....
Like so many of us, I have different whistles for different purposes...some sweeter, some more aggressive, some quieter. Where I live I am not able to access multiple whistles to try out, hence, I rely largely on advice I get from this site. Thanks to all who have helped me in the past. I am hoping ...
