Re: Starting out
So after sitting down and practicing for a while today I'm beginning to be able to hold a note relatively steady for a while. I am finding compressing the bag quite hard on my shoulder, however I can't imagine anything else that I've ever done requiring this movement so I'm sure I will get use to it...

Re: Starting out
Thanks for all the feedback :) I picked them up this morning, they're gorgeous! I definitely see what you mean about just focusing on getting a steady sound, it's so difficult coordinating the bag and bellows. does this become second nature or is conscious effort always required? And should it be re...

Starting out
So tomorrow if all goes to plan I should be picking up a practice set of pipes, so excited I can't sleep! Couple of questions; So far I have acquired H.J.Clarke's Approach to Uilleann Piping book, any other highly recommended books or learning materials? Is ornamentation similar to the whistle? What...

Re: What whistle related apps / programs do you use?
I use the Synthesia app on my iPad to download MIDI files, it then let's me play them on a piano roll and set the speed at which it plays. Also converts it to dots for me find it super handy!

Re: Holifield Low D whistle tour
Hey Norm,
I'd definitely be up for taking part in the whistle tour! Think I bought the first whistle you sold on eBay and reviewed that a while back, it's still my workhorse, thanks a bunch for a great whistle. Am based in Cornwall and I'd love a chance to see what the low D is like

Re: Can someone recommend an Eb whistle?
My favourite Eb is my Killarney head (came with the Killarney D body) with a generation Eb body. Tuneable as well, you just need to use a bit of plumbers PFTE tape to make the joint solid. http://www.killarneywhistle.com

Tony Hebdon Contact?
Does anyone have a contact number, email address or working web address for Tony Hebdon? I just found his name on the makers list over at Uilleann obsession and it looks like he's based 20 miles from me in Cornwall! However I can't seem to find a working website for him. Any help would be greatly ap...

FT: Kerry Pro low D Tuneable whistle
Pretty much as new minus a few scratches. Really love this whistle, however I fancy trying out a few others and don't have anywhere to do so where I'm based. Must be tunable. Thinking Goldie, Burke, MK Pro or Overton but open to suggestions. Would also consider trading for another key, try me :) Tha...
